August 26: National Women’s Equality Day
Every year on August 26, we commemorate this right with National Women's Equality Day. The United States Congress passed the 19th Amendment to the Constitution granting women full and equal voting rights on this day in 1920.
July 1: International Joke Day
July starts off with a challenge to tickle your student’s funny bone. July 1 is recognized as International Joke Day and there are many options for celebrating! Get started with a few of these ideas: Have students participate in a joke contest. The funniest joke as voted by other students wins. Have a Joker’s Wild day by playing funny movies and serving popcorn. They say that laughter is the best medicine, and there are a lot of health benefits that are associated with laughing. Laughter draws people together in a manner that triggers healthy emotional and physical changes in the body.
